Description
Saltwater pools use a salt chlorinator, also known as a saltwater chlorination system, to convert salt into chlorine through electrolysis. The salt chlorinator contains a salt cell or generator that uses electricity to break down the salt (sodium chloride) in the water into chlorine gas, which then dissolves to form hypochlorous acid, a mild sanitizer.
